Diet Mushrooms

For me diet means full of flavor, not only healthy or diet. Yes, it's really  flavoured if you cook the ingredients properly.

This mushrooms are a good example of healthy - no fat, but full of flavour dish.

Ingredients:
  • Champignon mushrooms, medium size - as many as you want
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt for each piece of mushrooms
Clean the mushrooms and remove their stems (you can make a sausage with them later).

Heat grill pan on low and place mushrooms on the grill. Avoid the middle of the pan, beacuse it's  too hot.

Immediately place the salt in the middle of the mushrooms.

No need to add water as mushrooms leave a good amount of water when cooked with salt.

Inside they are boiled in their water, outside they are cooked from the heat of the grill.

With a fork, lift up a little each piece, so that some water will pour in the pan to help the bottom of the mushrooms to cook nice.

In the last 1/2 minute turn the mushrooms on the other side.

Mushrooms are the perfect dish for everyone! They are low in calories, fat free, cholesterol free and a very important source of dietary fibre, vitamins and minerals.

Did you know that 100g of mushrooms contains more dietary fibre than 100g of celery or a slice of wholemeal bread?

While googaling for the benefits of mushrooms I found this site, so I let you read there more valuable informations about mushrooms.
